Hello and Welcome to izi.TRAVEL’s tour of Jantar Mantar. Here you will witness the cosmic observatory in the Pink city of Jaipur built in the year 1728, by Raja Sawai Jai Singh ll. Let me give you a bit background of the King who built it. He was an Astrologer, Astronomer, Mathematician, Town Planner and a very good Ruler. Raja Jai Singh had built 5 Jantar Mantar like these all over India. The first Jantar Mantar was built in Delhi, Second one in Varanasi, Third in Mathura, Fourth in Ujjain and the Fifth and last one in Jaipur, which is biggest of the 5. You must be amazed to know that every instrument in Jaipur’s Jantar Mantar is in operational condition.

So, are you ready? I am Aparna and I am indeed delighted to be your izi Travel Tour guide for this walking tour.
